TRUVAC by Vactor HXX Prodigy

For power in a compact package look to the mid-sized Vactor HXX Prodigy vacuum excavation truck. The Vactor HXX Prodigy vacuum excavator is the perfect non-destructive machine for utility and municipal applications. Versatile enough to excavate using either air or water as a digging medium, the HXX Prodigy features a 16-inch Hg, 3200 CFM PD blower with a custom-designed and optimized filtration system that can handle both digging mediums—air (185 CFM / 150 PSI) and water (10 GPM / 2500 PSI)—without a bag house.

Innovative Design

The Prodigy uses hydro-excavation, blasting away soil with jets up to 10 gallons of water per minute, at rates from 1,500 to 2,500 psi. The variable-pressure triplex pump allows the operator to adjust water pressure with the push of a button. For applications where dry digging is preferred, an optional air excavation system is available. In certain areas, air excavation can be the preferred method of excavation. The Prodigy with air excavation option allows the operator both capabilities to meet the job’s requirements.

Precise Excavation Using Water or Air

Mounted on a 33,000-pound gross vehicle weight Class 7 truck chassis (non-FET), the HXX Prodigy features a user-friendly control system and a standard extendable boom with 320-degree rotation that provides full coverage of the working area. An optional telescopic boom is also available.

TRUVAC by Vactor HXX Prodigy Air

The Vactor HXX Prodigy Air vacuum excavator is based on the popular Vactor HXX HydroExcavator series and years of vacuum excavation research, customer input, testing and experience. The HXX Prodigy Air midsize vacuum excavator is the perfect non-destructive machine for a wide range of utility and municipal applications including potholing, key hole repairs, utility and line location, precise excavation and general maintenance. Utility companies, utility service contractors and municipalities will appreciate its ease of operation, lighter operating weight and maneuverability in tight spaces. Excavating using air as the digging medium is often the preferred, even required method for utility work such as line locating and repair, and enables dry back-fill for the excavation.

User-Friendly Controls

Ergonomically designed control box located curbside for easy access, efficiency and improved operator safety. Enclosed in an aluminum box, it is protected from environmental elements. Controls include water system on / off, complete boom and body dump function, E-Stop, and more. A standard wireless remote puts all of the controls in the operator’s hands.

Superior Vacuum Performance

A powerful 16 in. Hg, 3,2000 CFM PD blower with a custom-designed and optimized filtration system that can handle digging with air without a bag house. The 3,200 CFM blower and 6 in. hose provide the operators with increased performance when compared to smaller trailer units. The standard 6 in. hose system reduces clogging seen in 3 in. or 4 in. vacuum systems. The vacuum system features ultra-efficient airflow. The simplified airflow path maximizes pickup and filtration effectiveness, while minimizing the amount of material that passes through the blower, reducing premature wear.
